In world military history, the Basilica cannon is a name that every military and historian must mention.

The Basilica cannon is a weapon designed by a Hungarian engineer named Urban.

After being rejected by Constantine XI, Urban went to see Ottoman sultan Mehmed II.

Basilica was a true heavy weapon at that time.

Thanks to its ability to shoot stone bullets over long distances, the Basilica was the first cannon that could penetrate Constantinople’s famous 15-mile long impregnable wall.

Long before the Basilica was built, the Byzantines were very confident in the fortified walls of Constantinople.
